    2025 Bursary Program Information

Thanks to the generous support of sponsors and donors we are able to offer a limited number of camp bursaries to children and youth to attend our summer camps. 

Applications for the 2025 Bursary Program will open on November 1st, 2024. We strongly encourage those who are interested in the 2025 Bursary Program to create their profile through the MRU Camps Parent Dashboard as soon as possible to receive email updates. 

Please read the following information carefully in its entirety as it contains important and relevant information regarding the MRU Camp bursary program.  

Selection and Placement

The bursary application is designed to be fair, and is granted to those who would not be able to attend camp without financial assistance. The number of approved bursary applications solely depends on the funding received for the designated fiscal year and is not guaranteed.

 Key Dates

  • 2025 Bursary Application Opens: November 1st, 2024
  • 2025 Bursary Application Closes: April 1st, 2025

Please submit your application at your earliest convenience. Session placements for successful bursary candidates are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. 

Although every effort is made to award a bursary to the camps selected in the application, there is no guarantee of space available in the preferred camps. 

Regulations:

  • Campers granted a bursary are expected to attend the camp for which they are registered. Failure to notify the office of withdrawal from camp will result in ineligibility for future bursary funding, as per our Terms and Conditions. Campers granted a bursary are required to write a testimonial/thank you note. Failure to provide the thank you letter will result in ineligibility for future bursary funding.
  • Incomplete applications will result in processing delays and may impact the  success of your application.We kindly ask that you do not contact us regarding the status of your application. Only successful applicants will be contacted regarding next steps. 

Application Process :

  1. Complete and submit the Bursary Application Form between November 1, 2024, and April 1, 2025. 
  2. Your application will be reviewed as per the Bursary Program Regulations. Please note you may be contacted for further documentation and/or information regarding your application. 
  3. Successful applicants will be asked to provide supporting document(s) prior to enrollment.

Supporting Documents:

Successful applicants will be required to provide the documentation listed below. Please submit the most up-to-date version of the following documents in PDF format. 

Mandatory Forms:

  • Proof of Income: For each adult in the household, please provide a copy of their current, official Canada Revenue Agency T4 Slip which includes total income.

Additional Forms:

If you are receiving income support, please submit all current documentation that applies to you. We may request additional documentation to confirm eligibility. The following documentation is not mandatory; however, would support your application.

  • Income Support: If you are receiving Income Support, please provide us with a current document that shows this. 
  • AISH: If you are receiving AISH, please provide us with a current document that shows this.
  • Alberta Child Health Benefit: Please provide us with a letter stating that you are currently eligible for the Alberta Child Health Benefit.
  • Alberta Adult Health Benefit: Please provide a copy of your Alberta Works Letter that shows you are currently on this program.
  • Refugee Status: Please provide a copy of any government document that confirms you are currently receiving support under the Resettlement Assistance Program or Interim Federal Health Program.
